Based on this experience, we have incorporated best practices from Gigawatts of operating BESS projects into our preliminary design methodology.

Prior to starting any engineering, we guide you through the completion of a customized intake form, host a scoping call, and share a documentation transfer protocol to help keep your portfolio organized. Then, we’ll establish templates for each deliverable that cater to your specific requirements - be it submittals to landowners, permitting authorities, or utilities. Every drawing and report undergoes our rigorous QA/QC process, allowing the templates to improve organically over time.

As your contracted design team, we will combine our experience with the project’s needs to create a 10% package that typically includes the following:

• Drawings

  • Site Plan: Layout includes major equipment, MV cable routes, access roads, fences, and property lines.

  • Single Line Diagram: Shows electrical connections between BESS, PCS, transformers, and substation.

  • Cable Schedules: Estimated lengths, sizes, configurations, and specifications for all key cables.

• Studies

  • Cable Ampacity Report: Sizing assumptions for MV, AC, and DC cables, including impedance values.

• Custom Deliverables

  • Need substation design or anything else? We’ll quote it.
